AL (primary) amyloidosis and light and heavy chain deposition diseases are clonal plasma cell proliferative disorders characterized by tissue deposits of light chain or heavy chain fragments, leading to organ dysfunction. A minority of patients have or develop multiple myeloma or Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia.
